We were gone this weekend to visit Dana's family in Virginia Beach. We were welcoming Chris, Dana's brother, back home for his two-week leave from Afghanistan. Two nights away together was quite a treat, but we are out of practice for these road trips.
Through the summer D has been taking several of these trips for work. Iowa, California, New Hampshire, Florida. She's a real pro. She even racked up the hotel rewards points we used for our room. We stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn, D's home away from home. The look of relief on her face was funny. It's the same look she gets when we settle in our bed at night.
We got home Sunday night. All our pets were in place. The house was clean. Things were normal.
